Who we are (data controller)
Lost My Key NI is an independent mobile locksmith operating across Co. Fermanagh and Northern Ireland. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us on 07756 560292 or at lostmykeyni@gmail.com.
What information we collect
When you call, message or WhatsApp us we collect only what is needed to carry out the job: your name, phone number, the address or vehicle location, and a description of the lock problem. We may also note the form of ID or proof of authority shown, and take photographs of the lock, door or vehicle we worked on.
If you pay by card or bank transfer, payment is processed by our payment provider — we never see or store your full card details.
We do not ask for special category data. Please do not send us more information than we need.
How we use it, and our legal basis
Performance of a contract: to quote the work, reach you, attend, complete the job and issue a receipt.
Legitimate interests: to keep a record of the work for warranty, insurance, landlord authorisation and dispute purposes, and to confirm that entry was authorised.
Legal obligation: to keep accounting records and to respond to lawful requests, for example from the PSNI or a court.
Consent: only where you separately agree, for example if you allow us to publish a photograph of completed work or a review. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not use it for advertising profiling. It is shared only where necessary — for example with a parts supplier for a warranty claim, our insurer or accountant, our payment provider, or where we are required to do so by law or by the PSNI.
Our website hosting and email are provided by service providers acting on our instructions (including Lovable for hosting and Google for our lostmykeyni@gmail.com mailbox and WhatsApp/phone messaging by Meta where you choose that channel).
International transfers
Some of our providers, such as our email and messaging providers, may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
Job records, invoices and receipts are kept for six years to meet UK tax, warranty and insurance obligations, then deleted. Enquiries that do not lead to a job are deleted within twelve months. Job photographs are deleted once no longer needed for warranty or insurance, unless you have agreed to their use on our website.
How we protect it
Records are held on password-protected, access-controlled devices and accounts with two-factor authentication where available. This website is served over HTTPS. Only the locksmith carrying out or invoicing the work has access to your details.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking cookies, and no consent banner is therefore required. Only technical storage strictly necessary to serve the pages is used, which is permitted under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
If we add analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will ask for your consent first.
Marketing
We do not send marketing texts, calls or emails to consumers without consent. If we ever contact you about a service you have already used, you can opt out at any time by replying or emailing us.
Children
Our services are aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect information about children, other than where a parent or guardian tells us a child is inside a locked property so that we can prioritise the callout.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to be informed, and to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you (a subject access request), to have it corrected, to have it deleted where we are not required to keep it, to restrict or object to our use of it, to withdraw consent where we rely on it, and to receive your data in a portable form.
Contact us on 07756 560292 or lostmykeyni@gmail.com and we will respond within one month, free of charge. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113), which is the UK supervisory authority.
Data breaches
If a breach occurs that is likely to cause a risk to your rights, we will report it to the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours and tell you without undue delay where the risk is high.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least annually. Any updates appear on this page with a new 'last updated' date.
